The Suzuki String School of Guelph (SSSG) and the Guelph Youth Dance Co. (GYD Co.) are sending their senior artists to Spain from March 6 to 18, 2019. The ensemble includes 30 string players and 20 dancers, ages 12 to 18. These students have been studying their art form for at least 8 years and are outstanding ambassadors for the Guelph and area community (students in the troupe come from Guelph, Georgetown, Acton, Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, Ancaster, Belwood, Fergus, Elora and Mount Forest). They have toured throughout Canada, in the US and China. Their performances are filled with youthful energy and profound emotion that thrills audiences. During their trip to Spain, they will perform 4–5 concerts in Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia. They will also interact with groups of young musicians and dancers in each city by socializing, rehearsing, and performing with them. This will be a life-changing experience for these young people, having ripple effects, not only in their own lives, but also in their schools and communities.
