Amber Ghent

Amber Ghent, cello teacher, SSSG
Since 2007 Amber has taught beginners to high school graduates with the Suzuki String School of Guelph. Previously she taught with the Cleveland Music School Settlement, KW Cello Suzuki, and in 2013 she joined the faculty of Wilfrid Laurier's String Academy. Amber specializes in helping musicians avoid and recover from limitation and injury through the technique of body mapping (licensed Andover Educator). She enjoys giving body workshops and teaching at summer festivals throughout the country.

A versatile chamber musician, Ms. Ghent has been cellist with the Madawaska String Quartet since 2007, performing and recording a wide range of repertoire and appearing at major venues throughout Canada. In addition she has performed with ensembles including the KW Symphony, Orchestra London, Tapestry New Opera, Bach and Beyond summer baroque festival (Fredonia, NY) and held the position of assistant principal cellist with the Erie Philharmonic. After earning a Bachelor's in Music Performance at Wilfrid Laurier University, Ms. Ghent went on to study in San Francisco and completed her Masters in Performance studying with members of the Cleveland orchestra.
