Guelph Musicfest 2009 will soon be here, and this year's theme is HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MENDELSSOHN, celebrating the 200th birthday of the brilliant composer.
As always, the heart of Guelph Musicfest is the Artist Series in the beautiful Recital Hall of the Guelph Youth Music Centre. Each of the four concerts in the Artist Series will feature at least one major work by Mendelssohn. Those of you have attended before know how wonderful performances sound in this intimate performance space. With only 170 seats, you are surrounded not only with glorious music but the natural wood and stone ambiance.
The artistic standard of the Guelph Musicfest has always been superb, and this season will not disappoint. But NEW for this season is Guelph Musicfest STAGE TWO.
