Teacher Development in Violin & Viola

SPECIAL OFFERING…

Beyond the Suzuki Violin Repertoire, part 2

Saturday August 17 to Sunday August 18, 2019
with Brian Lewis (TX)
Stacks Image 38
A 10-hour enrichment course focusing on developing tone, techniques and musicality beyond the Suzuki books.

Join us to discover the music and the teaching points for these wonderful “rare gems” chosen by Brian Lewis, as well as the well-known Wieniawski Concerto in d minor. Brian discussed many of these at the recent Starling-DeLay Symposium at Juilliard in May—you can read a review of the class here, with some recordings and links to sheet music.

Brian will scan and send music, with his bowings, to whoever signs up for this class.

David Popper, arr. Auer: Gavotte No. 2, Op. 23 (available on IMSLP)
Heinz Provost: Intermezzo-Souvenir de Vienne
David Diamond: Canticle
Flausino Do Vale, Arr. Heifetz: Ao p da fogueira (from Preludio XV)
Guido Papini, arr. Hoffman-Saltarella: Souvenir de Sorrento, Op. 55

Carl Engel, arr. Zimbalist: Sea Shell
