Barn Dance
Kick up your heels and start the SOSI week in style. The ever popular Relative Harmony leads a good ol’ barn dance, conveniently held right on campus!

Participants age 12 and under may spend a quiet hour any day (Monday–Friday) making crafts. This activity is not a substitute for day care or baby-sitting (a parent or responsible child 12 or over must stay with participants). A nominal fee will be charged.

Free Concerts
If you want to hear great music, SOSI offers many free concerts, including our outstanding Faculty Concert, Tutti, Sonatina Jamboree, Senior Concert, Operetta performance, Fiddling, and Improvisation concerts PLUS… End-of-the-week Recitals by our Young Artists, and Piano, Percussion, String and Orchestra Finales.

Shopping at SOSI
The Sound Post (Toronto) will be on campus with a variety of music supplies including string Suzuki recordings and books, chamber music, sheet music, and miscellaneous items. They will also have a selection of quality string instruments and bows for sale, as well as strings and some supplies. Minor repairs can also be done.

Sports, Exercise & Swimming
The WLU gym, exercise room and tennis courts are available for a nominal charge. Details upon request.

Swimming is available on campus at the WLU Pool. Swimming is also available at the Waterloo Swimplex, 101 Father David Blvd, for a nominal charge.

The nearby Waterloo Park also has a water park, with a nearby petting zoo and beautifully treed park.

During off hours throughout the week, there are organized soccer games (including coach) held on campus. Bring your shin-guards, soccer cleats, or running shoes.

Stage Set Decoration
Students and Parents are welcome to participate in painting sets for the Operetta from Sun-Wed. Students 9 and under need to have a parent attending with them while painting, while students 10 and over can participate more independently. If you enjoy painting, and would enjoy contributing to the sets for the Operetta, then this FREE activity is for you!
